CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WSAU) — The name of the teen accused of killing Lily Peters will remain under wraps for now.
The boy, identified as CPB, was in court via Zoom on Thursday for a motion hearing where a judge determined that his name will not be released as far as court documents are concerned. Attorneys for both sides discussed limiting identification to just first names or using the terms defendant/victim, which the court prefers.
Additionally, Judge Steven Gibbs also allowed for autopsy information and crime scene photos to be sealed, a request made by CPB’s defense team. That means those items will not be shown in court.
Both sides also agreed to limit their testimony to facts only during a series of hearings between August 7th and 14th. Those will determine if the case will stay in the adult court system or move to the juvenile system.
The 15-year-old boy is facing three felony counts including first-degree intentional homicide. He faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty.
