GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis and the Chicago Bears reached an agreement on a $2 million, one-year deal on Friday.
Before playing the previous five seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Lewis, 39, played the first 12 seasons of his career for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Lewis started all 17 games for the Packers last season, recording six receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns, and during his five-year stint in Green Bay, Lewis never finished with more than 214 receiving yards in a season.
If Lewis makes the Bears’ roster and plays in a regular-season game, he will have played in his 18th NFL season, shattering the record held by Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez and future Hall of Fame tight end Jason Witten.
