WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – According to the New York Post, on Tuesday night, a lottery winner in Florida claimed one of the highest payouts in Mega Millions history, which is believed to be worth $1.58 billion.
13, 19, 20, 32, 33, and the gold Mega ball 14 were the winning numbers.
News4JAX reported that the billion-dollar ticket was purchased from a Publix in Neptune Beach, Florida.
A large $1.58 billion prize paid out in yearly installments or a one-time cash option for an estimated $783.3 million is the option available to the purchaser of the winning ticket.
This amount is the highest jackpot payout in Mega Millions history, narrowly surpassing the previous record of $1.537 billion that was sold in South Carolina in 2018.
The greatest lottery payment ever went to Californian Edwin Castro last November when he won the $2.04 billion Powerball.
