STAMFORD, CT (WSAU) — NBC Sports has announced that one Wisconsin Badger football game will be broadcast exclusively on Peacock, the company’s streaming service. this season.
In a press release announcing their College Football broadcast plans for the year, NBC touted the Badgers as one of seven preseason Top 25 programs that would have at least one game on the streaming platform and not available through a traditional TV broadcast.
NBC Sports did not name which Badger game would be streamed. College Football insider Brett McMurphy has reported that it will be the homecoming game against Rutgers on October 7th.
This year marks the first season of the Big Ten’s new media rights deal with FOX, CBS, and NBC which creates three national broadcast windows on each network every Saturday. NBC’s portion of that deal includes games on Saturday nights and a handful of Peacock-exclusive games.
Wisconsin opens the 2023 season on September 2nd against the University of Buffalo (NY) at 2:30 PM.
All Wisconsin football games will be heard on WSAU regardless of TV assignments, with pregame coverage beginning two hours prior to kickoff.
