WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Marshfield man who is facing his 7th OWI has pled not guilty and posted bond.
Court records show Jason Peterson entered the plea on Friday during a preliminary hearing. Judge Suzanne O’Neil then amended his bond to $20,000 with the first $5,000 in cash.
Peterson is charged with running his van into a tractor on Highway 107 back in June in the Town of Marathon. Officers at the scene noted that he showed difficulty walking and talking. He also admitted to drinking brandy before getting behind the wheel.
He was treated at a local hospital for injuries. Blood tests later confirmed a blood alcohol concentration of .09%, above Peterson’s legal limit of .02%.
He faces a Class F Felony of 7th offense OWI. The 50-year-old did post the $5,000 bond and will return to court on September 14th for a pretrial conference.
