STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) – A Stevens Point woman, 40, has entered a not-guilty plea about a deadly heroin overdose case from 2021.
On Monday morning, Margaret Creamer appeared via video in Portage County Court. Creamer will continue to be detained at the Taycheedah Correctional Institution under a $10,000 bond, the judge decided.
Authorities said that on September 30, 2021, a man was discovered unresponsive by his family. Evidence provided via text messages, according to investigators, indicates Creamer supplied the man with drugs before he overdosed and passed away.
She currently faces eight counts, including first-degree reckless homicide. The court established probable cause last month that Creamer had committed the felonies.
On September 11, there will be a pre-trial conference. In 2021, she began serving a five-year jail sentence for a separate narcotics offense.
