GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers have entered their final week of training camp and will host their last public practice on Wednesday despite the heatwave moving across the Midwest.
According to Packers Wire’s Zach Krause, LaFleur spoke before practice and stated that Wednesday’s practice would be around two hours despite the heat. “We have to get our mind right for that. Stressed proper hydration. “Going through something tough is good for you.”
Coach LaFleur also criticized the team’s effort on Tuesday after having a few days off and noted that the team still has several things to clean up before Week 1. One of those areas continues to be avoiding botched snaps, as the team saw a couple more yesterday and one during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against New England that resulted in a Patriots touchdown.
When asked about Love’s progress throughout the week, he noted the improvements he’s seen in Love’s footwork and praised longtime QB coach Tom Clements, calling him a “master” of footwork fundamentals.
This will be a critical week for bubble players fighting for a roster spot as the team needs to cut the roster down to 53 players by next Tuesday, August 29th. Some notable players on the bubble include running backs Tyler Goodson and Emmunel Wilson; wide receivers Malik Heath and Bo Melton; pass rusher Brenton Cox Jr.; and safeties Tarvarius Moore and Anthony Johnson Jr.
