MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers pulled off yet another solid win as the offense continues to show that it can score runs when needed.
Carlos Santana, Mark Canha, and Andruw Monasterio all reached base two times with a hit and a walk, with Andruw Monasterio leading the attack with a 2-for-3 performance. The day’s biggest hit came from William Contreras, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. The main problem was in the middle of the lineup, as Willy Adames went 0-for-3 with a walk and Sal Frelick went 0-for-4.
Freddy Peralta came close to reaching the double-digit strikeout mark once more, recording nine strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. In the beginning, he was charged with two runs on two hits and three walks. Joel Payamps and Elvis Peguero both gave up two runs on two hits out of the bullpen. In a scoreless inning, Devin Williams recorded the game’s final two strikeouts.
The Brewers winning streak now sits at seven games with their victory yesterday. They’ve scored a minimum of five runs per game and a total of 48 runs throughout the seven games during this winning streak. In the seven games, they have given up 28 runs, 15 of which came in just two games.
Today, the Brewers will attempt to make this winning streak eight games by attempting to sweep their third straight series. In the series’ final game, Adrian Houser takes on Michael Wacha. The first pitch on WSAU is at 1:10 p.m.
