MADISON, WI (WSAU) – As the 2023 football seasons of the Wisconsin Badgers and Buffalo Bulls prepare to begin on Saturday. Buffalo head coach Maurice Linguist and his staff are implementing an intriguing strategy before the weekend trip to Madison.
The team has been playing House of Pain’s “Jump Around” all day at practice, as Jonathan Acosta of WGRZ in Buffalo observed earlier this week.
“Pay a visit to the University at Buffalo football practice this week, and you’re likely to hear one song in particular played over and over,” Acosta writes. “That song would be ‘Jump Around’ by House of Pain, a song that’s blasted over the speakers at Camp Randall and is a tradition at Wisconsin Badgers football games.”
Acosta notes that a Buffalo player added, “That’s their song. We’re going to try to make it our song.”
The last time these two teams faced off was in 2006, and Wisconsin won that game handily, 35-3, behind a big game from then-starting quarterback Tyler Donavon, who threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns.
Badgers Head Coach Luke Fickell hopes fans pack Camp Randall on Saturday and stated this week that students showing up on time for Saturday’s game will play a big role in that saying, “The excitement, the buzz, the feeling I’m curious to see how our students show up,” Fickell said. “I’ve heard to get them in a little earlier and start this thing off the right way. It’s a 2:30 kick, so it shouldn’t be that early for them. I’m hoping maybe there’s some newness to getting some things adjusted up a little bit. That’s a suggestion from our players.”
