WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A former Weston daycare employee accused of four counts of sexual contact intercourse with a child under the age of 13 will go to trial later this fall.
Shawn Wilde was in a Marathon County courtroom on Tuesday where Judge Michael Moran scheduled a week-long trial for November 13th through the 17th.
The 23-year-old is accused of taking at least two children into the basement of the daycare facility, telling them they would play a “game.” Investigators said he would cover them in blankets and touch them inappropriately while also taking photos.
Wilde is being held on a $100,000 cash bond and will return to court on October 17th for a motion hearing ahead of the trial.
Charges against Wilde were filed in late 2022. He faces eight additional counts which include possession of child pornography, exploiting a child, and exposing a child to harmful material. All the charges are felonies, the most serious of which are Class B felonies which come with a mandatory life sentence, not to exceed 60 years.
