WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau woman is facing charges for delivering THC and conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice for allegedly trying to have drugs hidden in her estranged husband’s home in order to gain the upper hand in divorce proceedings.
Briana Glasel is said to have enlisted one of her friends to plant marijuana, cash, and other drug-related items in the man’s garage. The friend, who is not named in court documents, says the 42-year-old was trying to have her soon-to-be ex arrested for allegations of dealing drugs to kids. Something she said would help her case in an upcoming divorce hearing.
Glasel went so far as to deliver drugs and other items to her friend. But instead of sneaking them into the man’s home, she recorded the exchange and turned the evidence over to police.
It’s believed that the plot was designed to help Glasel win custody of the couple’s daughter. Police also say she made false claims that her husband was sexually abusing the girl.
Glasel is free on a $1,000 signature bond with several conditions including no contact with her husband except for child exchanges, which must be made through an app. She also must maintain sobriety and take all prescriptions as prescribed. She returns to court on October 5th.
