(Milwaukee, WI) — The Milwaukee Brewers crushed the Miami Marlins 12-0 in their series opener from Milwaukee.
Brandon Woodruff threw a complete-game shutout and struck out seven batters while giving up six hits and one walk. Willy Adames went three-for-four with four RBI and three runs scored while Mark Canha went deep in the first inning.
The Brew Crew improved to 80-and-63 and are still first in the NL Central. The four-game series continues tonight. Pre-game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
Meanwhile big bat is getting a second chance at the Majors. Josh Donaldson was called up to the Brewers on Monday.
The former American League MVP was signed to a minor league contract last month after he was released by the New York Yankees. He’s hitting just .142 with 10 homers this year and has hit .207 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI over the past two seasons.
Donaldson went one-for-four with an RBI against the Marlins in his debut.
