WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Trial dates have been set for a Wausau man accused of cutting another man’s throat while he was high on drugs.
Court records show Lee Xiong will face a 12-person jury from March 5th through the 8th, 2024 for attempted first-degree homicide. Investigators say he was high on methamphetamine when he took a boxcutter and slashed the victim’s throat.
According to the victim, Xiong was afraid that someone had put a hit on him and was accusing his friend of trying to carry it out.
The 37-year-old has pled not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. If found guilty he would face the possibility of life in prison. He returns to court for a motion hearing in late January.
