KRONENWETTER, WI (WSAU) — Trustees in Kronenwetter have hired their next full-time Administrator.
Interim Administrator Kim Manly has announced that Peter Kampfer will take over in mid-October, ending a 15-month search to fill the position.
Kampfer currently lives and works in Texas. His resume includes 34 years of experience in local and county government. He also has experience leading public utilities.
“While all the candidates did a nice job interviewing, one stood out from the rest,” said Manley. “The Village is excited to start a new chapter with Mr. Kampfer.”
The announcement came in a press release on Wednesday. Kampfer interviewed for the job on Monday along with two other individuals, then voted to offer him the position unanimously.
Kronenwetter has been without a full-time Administrator since last summer when they parted ways with Richard Downey. Since then, four interim administrators have been appointed, including Police Chief Terry McHugh, who fulfilled some duties while also maintaining his regular position with the Department. Former Plover Administrator Dan Mahoney also helped along.
Back in June, the Board of Trustees voted to rescind an offer that had been made to candidate Bradley Hanson due to concerning factors in a background check. The board then hired a recruitment firm to help them find new and qualified candidates.
