ATLANTA, GA (WSAU-WTAQ) – With a 12 point lead going into the 4th quarter and the game seemingly under control, the Falcons score 13 unanswered points and give the Green Bay Packers a gut-wrenching 25-24 loss in Atlanta Sunday afternoon.
Behind 3 touchdown passes from Jordan Love the Packers had a 24-12 lead at the start of the 4th quarter, but could never get the offense into any sort of consistency the rest of the way and Falcons, clawed their way back into the game, making the most of their possessions and kicking the winning 25-yard field goal with a minute to go in the game. The Packers went three-and-out on their final three possessions.
The loss leaves the Packers with a record of 1-and-1 after opening the season with two games on the road. Green Bay will play its 2023 season home opener next Sunday.
The Packers will welcome the New Orleans Saints to Lambeau Field next Sunday.
