COTTAGE GROVE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Cottage Grove police say they arrested someone on Sunday in connection with threats made on social media.
The Cottage Grove Police Department (CGPD) said in a Facebook post that it received an anonymous report about the threats on Sunday morning. The person accused of making the threats lives in the village, according to police.
According to CGPD, the suspect made threats of harm on social media channels, including the Monona Grove School District.
The suspect was arrested and questioned by police on Sunday. Following the interrogation, officers transported the individual to the Dane County Jail. They were arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats.
Charges will be referred to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office, according to the CGPD.
The Cottage Grove community and the Monona Grove School District, according to police, are safe.
