GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Following the Packers’ tough loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday night, Pro Football Focus has issued their grades for Green Bay.
Rashan Gary, the team’s leading pass rusher, got the highest grade (82.4) and added four more pressures, including a quarterback hit while playing only 14 pass-rushing snaps. Despite catching just one pass for 35 yards, wide receiver Samori Toure received the highest offensive grade (76.6). Following an early interception on Detroit’s first possession, safety Rudy Ford recorded his second straight strong score (73.4) and made eight tackles.
Other notable standouts included receiver Romeo Doubs (71.6), who caught nine of thirteen targets and made a difficult catch. Colby Wooden, a defensive lineman, also had a strong night (71.6) with a quarterback hit and a run stop in 19 snaps. Right tackle Zach Tom also performed well (71.0) and was the offensive line’s top run blocker.
Green Bay’s lowest-scoring player was offensive lineman Royce Newman (42.7), who allowed five pressures, including a sack and a quarterback hit, and was the team’s weakest run blocker. Rookie Lukas Van Ness had his most difficult week of the season (46.1) after failing to register pressure and performing poorly against the run. Cornerback Keisean Nixon struggled in coverage (48.8), allowing four catches and missing two tackles.
The Packers fell to 2-2 on the season and are now behind the Lions for first place in the NFC North.
