WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A home in Wausau is considered a total loss following two fires in a short time.
WAOW TV reports that the original call came in on Thursday. Crews appeared to have put out those flames, but some hotspots remained in an area that had blown-in insulation.
The fire rekindled early Friday morning. Crews returned to the home at about 1:15 AM. The flames burned much hotter and did more damage to the home than the first incident.
The cause of the initial fire remains under investigation. No one was home at the time of the second fire, and no one was injured in the incident.
