ANTIGO, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Following a bomb threat, all schools within the Antigo Unified School District were closed on Thursday.
The threat was received at the Antigo Middle School shortly after 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a press release from the Antigo Police Department on Thursday.
K9s and drones were sent in to conduct a thorough search at the middle school, but nothing unusual was discovered. The announcement stated that other schools in Antigo were also investigated, and none of the schools turned up anything suspicious.
District Administrator Glenda Oginski stated that the school received a bomb threat through email on Wednesday night in a Facebook post and an email issued to District families.

The FBI, the Langlade County Sheriff’s Office, the School District of Antigo, and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office were all involved in the investigation and reaction, according to the press release.
The District still intends to hold classes on Friday, although a update is anticipated sometime Thursday afternoon.
