MADISON, Wis. (WAOW-WSAU) — A 95-yard interception return for a touchdown just before halftime by Ricardo Hallman helped the Wisconsin Badgers football team to a 24-13 win over Rutgers Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.
The Badgers led 10-0 and Rutgers were inside the Badgers’ 10-yard line ready to at least make it a one-possession game, but Hallman had other ideas. The Badgers cornerback broke on the football, stepped in front of a Rutgers wide receiver, and raced 95 yards for a score.
The pick-6 was a game-changing play as Rutgers were prepared to make things a one-possession game at halftime but instead Wisconsin led 17-0.
Braelon Allen had 19 carries for 94 yards and scored the Badgers’ lone offensive touchdown of the first half. Tanner Mordecai was 17 for 31 for 145 yards and tossed a touchdown pass to Tucker Ashcraft to help the Badgers maintain a nice lead in the second half.
