The Wausau Human Resources Committee will consider pay adjustments for the Mayor and members of the City Council on Monday.
The agenda packet does not include a specific recommendation for salary adjustments. It does call for any changes to be finalized by December 1st, which is the first day that candidates for the 2023 city elections can circulate nominating papers.
All 11 of Wausau’s Alder seats will be up for election in 2023 along with the Mayor’s office. Alders will serve a two-year term, and the Mayor’s position is a four-year term.
Wausau’s last salary adjustment for the Mayor was in 2019 when the pay went from $74,851 to $78,873.60, or around $38 per hour. That was the first increase for the position since the mid-2000s.
Monday’s meeting begins at 4:45 PM at City Hall.
