GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers will be without star running back Aaron Jones on Monday night as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Jones’ status remained up in the air earlier this afternoon, but he is now reporting that Aaron Jones will indeed miss his third game of the season.
Jones, who had six touches and played 20 snaps against the Detroit Lions 11 days ago, took part in only a small portion of each of this week’s three practices. After hurting his hamstring at the end of a touchdown run in the second half of Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, he missed both games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
A.J. Dillon will serve as the lead back against the Raiders if Jones is unable to play. In his fourth season, Dillon has made 44 carries for an average of 2.7 yards per carry. The only other running back on the roster is rookie Emanuel Wilson.
