TOWN OF WOOD, WI (WSAU) — A two-vehicle crash on Highway 73 killed a 14 and 16-year-old early Monday morning.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office 14-year-old Quinton Plucinski was driving southbound on Polish Road near the intersection with Highway 73. Officers say Plucinski failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a semi driving eastbound on the highway.
Plucinski and his passenger, 16-year-old Connor Ostricki, died at the scene. The semi driver was identified as a 36-year-old person from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.
The crash happened at about 3:45 AM Monday. A portion of Highway 73 was closed for several hours while multiple crews investigated and cleaned up the scene.
No further information was released. First responders from Pittsville and the Wood County Coroner responded to the scene.
