UDATED (WSAU) — The MLB postseason continued on Wednesday with Houston and Arizona advancing and the Phillies taking a lead on Atlanta.
The Arizona Diamondbacks completed a three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 4-2 victory in Game Three of the NLDS at Chase Field. Geraldo Perdomo, Ketel Marte, Christian Walker and Gabriel Moreno set a postseason record by all homering in the third inning. Arizona is advancing to its first NLCS appearance since 2007.
In Minnesota, the reigning champion Houston Astros punched their ticket to the ALCS for the seventh straight year with a 3-2 win over the Twins at Target Field. Houston will now take on the AL West rival Texas Rangers in the ALCS.
In other action, the Philadelphia Phillies trounced the Atlanta Braves 10-2 at Citizens Bank Park to take a 2-1 series lead. The Braves will visit the Phillies for Game Four of the NLDS tonight.
