WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Gospel TLC, a transitional living center for men, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday in Weston. It’s goal is to offer a faith-based living center where residents can break the cycle of addiction, homelessness and incarceration.
“This community needs this facility because there are a lot of people out there that are suffering from addiction,” said Gospel TLC board member Scott Parks.
It can also help those who have suffered from homelessness or anything that might have otherwise left them broken. “We just really want to invite anyone that’s looking for transformation to come and be able to find that transformation in our facility,” said executive director Yauo Yang.
The first four residents will move in next week. One of them, Paul Yang, says before he had been accepted at this new space, he had been really down on his luck. Now, he’ll be in the care of the volunteers and staff that can help him stay clean. “Because of the doors opening up for me, I have a chance to make it out there,” he said.
Leadership there say they are still looking for more people to volunteer their time and their cooking abilities, among other aspects.
