MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – In Sunday’s preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Darvin Ham, the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, was the first to be on the other side of the new star tandem of Damian Lillard and Giannis Anteokounmpo. He had a clear message for the rest of the NBA.
“Best of luck to everyone else, the other 28 teams besides from ourselves that have to figure out how to stop that,” Ham told reporters after Los Angeles suffered a 108-97 loss. “I’m just happy we only have to see them twice in the regular season.”
After missing Milwaukee’s first two games, Lillard and Antetokounmpo were making their preseason debuts. In just 15 minutes of action, Antetokounmpo led the team with 16 points (7-of-10) while also contributing eight rebounds and two blocks. In 22 minutes of play, Lillard added 14 points, four steals, and three assists.

“We haven’t won anything,” Giannis said last week, per Marc J. Spears of Andscape.
“There’s going to be a lot of hype around us, but we haven’t done anything.” he continued. “So, we can talk about it all day, but at the end of the day, our actions speak louder than words. But we have an opportunity to do something great, and that’s exciting for me.”
Although it’s going to take some time for Lillard and Antetokounmpo to get used to one another, it’s clear that they have what it takes to be one of the league’s most dangerous duos.
