EAGLE RIVER, WI (WSAU) — A Northwoods man accused of domestic abuse will have his Vilas County trial delayed to early 2024.
Frank Schuman faces one count of substantial battery in a domestic abuse setting. Court records show he’s now scheduled to go to trial for those charges on February 15th and 16th, 2024.
The 30-year-old was out on bond for numerous felony offenses against women when Oneida County Sheriff’s Officers issued a be on the lookout for him in January 2022, saying they had reason to believe that there were other victims. Following that request, at least one other person came forward saying Schuman had abused them as well.
Officers suspect that he’s committed numerous offenses against women including substantial battery, false imprisonment, recklessly endangering safety, and strangulation. He faces additional court proceedings in Oneida and Outagamie Counties as well.
Schuman had been scheduled for trial in November. He will have a pair of pre-trial hearings on December 7th and January 30th before the February trial.
Schuman is a Wisconsin-based MMA fighter who has appeared in at least three professional events under the name “Nightmare Schuman.”
