PHILADELPHIA, PA (WSAU) — The Philadelphia Phillies are just two wins away from advancing to the World Series for the second straight year.
Kyle Schwarber hit two of the Phils’ three solo home runs as they crushed the Diamondbacks 10-0 in Game Two of the NLCS in Philadelphia. Trea Tuner opened the scoring with a solo shot in the first inning before Schwarber went deep in the third and sixth innings to make it 3-0 Phillies.
J.T. Realmuto and Alec Bohm tacked on two-run doubles as the Phils poured it on late and grabbed a two-games-to-none lead in the best-of-seven set. Aaron Nola fired six shutout innings for the win. The Phillies now have 15 home runs in their last four games, which is the most in a four-game span in postseason history.
Merrill Kelly allowed four runs including the three homers to take the loss for Arizona, which managed just four hits.
The D’backs will host Game Three of the series on Thursday in Phoenix.
