GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones is hopeful to make his long-awaited comeback on Sunday against the Denver Broncos after saying that he is confident he has finally recovered from a hamstring issue.
“Yes, this is the best I’ve felt,” Jones stated. Zach Krause of Packers Wire reports that Jones returned to the field on Monday following the bye and participated in a limited amount of practice on Wednesday. He reported that the hamstring is in the best condition it has been since being hurt on September 10.
“I’m back feeling good now,” Jones said Wednesday. “I’m confident now…I think sitting that game really helped.”
The Packers are hoping that the bye week was the final piece of Jones’ comeback, as he has only played 48 snaps through six weeks this season.
Jones had a hamstring injury in Week 1, missed two games, and then returned to action in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions, playing 20 snaps. Despite feeling well in the weeks preceding Week 5, a relapse on the Saturday before playing the Las Vegas Raiders prompted him to miss his third game in four weeks.
