STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Two of the five Alders up for election in Stevens Point next year have filed non-candidacy papers.
District 2 Alder David Shorr and District 6 Alder David Plaisance will not seek re-election on April 2nd, according to information released by the City Clerk’s office in the last two weeks.
Residents of those districts who are interested in running should contact the city clerk’s office for more information. Nominating petitions can be circulated starting December 1st, and must be returned to the clerk’s office by early January.
Spring Election Day is April 2nd. Should a primary be required, it would be held in late February.
Stevens Point has 11 Aldermanic districts. Even-numbered seats are up for election in even-numbered years, and odd-numbered seats are voted in odd years.
