WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Those who still subscribe to the print version of Gannett’s newspapers in Central Wisconsin will no longer get their papers delivered via carrier starting Monday.
The Wausau Daily Herald, Stevens Point Journal, Wisconsin Rapids Tribune, and Marshfield News-Herald will now rely on the US Postal Service to deliver print editions, instead of their delivery workers.
A spokesperson for Gannett says the move will help the publications provide a more consistent delivery schedule by using the Postal Service’s network and expertise.
Subscribers are also encouraged to access the electronic editions of those newspapers, which Gannett emphasizes is the same as the print version.
Gannett has made similar moves with its papers across the nation. Other publications have also turned to postal delivery as a way of cutting costs and increasing efficiency.
