PHILADELPHIA, PA (WSAU) — The Arizona Diamondbacks are advancing to the World Series for the first time since 2001.
Arizona defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in Game Seven of the National League Championship Series at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night.
Rookie Corbin Carroll led the charge with three hits and two RBI in the series-clinching victory. Gabriel Moreno and Christian Walker also plated a run apiece for the D-Backs, who will face the Texas Rangers in the World Series.
Alec Bohm homered, but the Phillies went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position in the loss.
Game One of the World Series will take place on Friday in Arlington.
