GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Jaire Alexander, the star cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, was limited to practice on Thursday due to a back problem. Coach Matt LaFleur described Alexander’s status as “day to day.”
“I really don’t have a lot to say on it. I’m certainly not an expert on backs and don’t want to pretend to be,” LaFleur said Thursday.
According to Packers Wire, on Wednesday, Alexander made a limited comeback to practice, but his absence on Thursday raises the possibility that he may miss yet another game after being out against Denver. He struggled with the injury before the Packers’ Week 3 matchup with the New Orleans Saints, which has caused him to miss three of the previous four games.
On Friday, the Packers will resume practice and issue a final injury report. Rasul Douglas, Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, and Corey Ballentine would be the Packers’ top four cornerbacks on defense if Alexander is indeed sidelined for Sunday’s game against Minnesota.
The Packers announced on Wednesday that Eric Stokes will miss the next four games while on injured reserve due a hamstring injury.
