WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW-WSAU)–- Law enforcement and organizations across the state are raising awareness of the opioid crisis by collecting and disposing old, and unused prescribed medication.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a convenient and responsible way for people to properly dispose of unused drugs and medications. The Wausau Police Department (WPD) had the lobby open on Saturday, for people to come throw away their old medicines, in support of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
“We have the instructions posted there if people come in. If they have specific questions, we have a video up on our Facebook page that explains how to dispose of medications, prior to getting here,” said patrol Lieutenant John Phillips
If you or someone else would like to dispose of drugs you can visit the Wausau PD Facebook page.
