MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — Three people suffered minor injuries after a house fire broke out in Merrill Monday evening.
The fire occurred at 1103 Jefferson Street. Crews from multiple departments including Wausau, Pine River, Russell, and Corning all responded along with Tomahawk EMS and Wisconsin Public Service.
Crews described the fire as “significant,” and immediately worked to extinguish the flames and protect nearby structures. The family was able to escape with minor injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. A family member is setting up a benefit fund for the family at Park City Credit Union, according to a Facebook post.
