MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Big Ten Conference unveiled its complete football schedule for 2024 on Thursday afternoon.
In 2024, Wisconsin will play host to Oregon and go to USC to visit two of those new schools. Since playing at Oregon State in 2012, Los Angeles will be the farthest the Badgers have traveled for a regular-season matchup.
Powerhouse Alabama will also play Wisconsin in their third and final non-conference game of the season at Camp Randall. Alabama has not played a game in Madison since 1928, and this will mark Alabama’s first road game against a Big Ten opponent since traveling to take on Penn State in 2011.
The Big Ten will no longer have divisions; however, Iowa and Minnesota are games Wisconsin will always play, regardless of the enlarged conference. Conference leaders saw maintaining rivalry games as crucial to the expansion.
To kick off the 2024 season, Wisconsin will get two straight games at home and a rematch of the 2017 Cotton Bowl when they face the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday, August 31st. They will face the South Dakota Coyotes the following week on Saturday, September 7th.
Wisconsin will also not face either Ohio State or Michigan in 2024 but will host Penn State in Madison on October 26th. The Badgers will be trying to defeat Penn State for the first time since winning 45-7 at home in 2011.
Other Big Ten games will include the Badgers looking to win their 18th straight game against Purdue on October 5th, staying undefeated against Rutgers on October 12th, and expanding their all-time series lead against Northwestern on October 19th.
The Badgers will also seek their fifth straight victory over Nebraska since 2012 when they travel to Lincoln to face the Cornhuskers on November 23rd.
