MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Tigers acquired first baseman/outfielder Mark Canha from the Brewers in a trade, the team announced. In exchange, Milwaukee will get back minor-league reliever Blake Holub.
Holub. 25, had a 3.03 ERA and 8 saves in 48 relief appearances between Class-A West Michigan and Double-A Erie last season. He also held opponents to a .226 AVG with 76 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched.
According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Milwaukee had to pick up Canha’s $11.5M club option or pay his $2M buyout by Monday.
