TOMAHAWK, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A relief fund has been set up for the victims of last week’s fire on West Wisconsin Avenue in Tomahawk.
Those victims include two businesses, Nachos Mexican Grill and a Century 21 Real Estate office, and residents of the apartments above. Officials told WAOW TV that donations of clothing and other household goods came in almost immediately, so they are asking people to hold off on donating any more until they can take inventory and determine what else is needed.
“Right now [things] like the gift cards, things that they could use right now to fill the pantry or get gas or what have you. Chamber bucks, gift cards, gift certificates, and cash are really what’s going to help sustain them right now,” Executive Director of the Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce Sherry Hulett told WAOW TV.
Hulett adds that the Chamber’s Facebook page will keep people updated on what the families need. There are also 11 cash donation sites around Tomahawk. Donations can also be made electronically via Venmo by using the handle @Ignacio-FuentesAngel.
