The Stevens Point Plan Commission will discuss a draft ordinance aimed at balancing small-scale home business operations with the residential nature of areas that are not zoned commercial.
According to Monday’s agenda packet, the proposed ordinance outlines ten prohibited uses for residential home business settings. Those include dance or nightclubs, adult stores, mini-storage, welding or machining, and motor vehicle repair.
The proposal also spells out that the owner or proprietor of the home business shall live in the dwelling and no more than two employees who do not live in the home shall be employed by the business.
You can see a copy of the proposed ordinance here. Monday’s meeting begins at 6 PM in the community room of the Police Station on Michigan Avenue, and the proposal is listed for discussion purposes only.
