RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU) – The Rib Mountain Public Safety Committee met on Monday to discuss plans for a new housing number ordinance.
The ordinance is being introduced due to the vote to change Rib Mountain from a town to a village. Previously, residents had to have their house number out by the road, but the change allows the committee to take a further look and possibly change that rule if deemed necessary.

Rib Mountain Community Development Director Jared Grande says finding a balance in the new ordinance is needed, saying, “Finding a balance between aesthetics and public health and safety is key, and usually public health and safety is number one rightfully so, but also aesthetics is important, so looking to see what has worked or hasn’t worked in other places and pulling from that to strike that balance.”
Possible ideas and plans for the ordinance will now move on to the village board to be discussed at their next meeting.
