PROVIDENCE, RI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin mens basketball dropped a 72-59 decision at Providence on Tuesday night.
The Friars built a 37-21 halftime lead and then scored the first ten points of the second half.
AJ Storr led the Badgers with 22 points. John Blackwell had 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. No other Badger was in double figures.
Wisconsin, now 1-2, will host Robert Morris on Friday.
The Wisconsin womens basketball team got a last second basket from Brooke Schramek in a 66-64 win over South Dakota State at the Kohl Center.
The Jackrabbits rallied from a 13 point deficit to tie the game with 23 seconds to go before Schramek got to the rim for a layup with 0.8 sconds remaining.
Ronnie Porter had 17 points, six assists and five steals for the Badgers, Schramek had 14 points.
Wisconsin, now 3-0, will head to Kansas State on Sunday.
