WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – On Wednesday night, left-wing demonstrators seized the DNC offices in Washington, DC, demanding that Democrats in the Senate, House, and White House demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
According to the Post Millennial, numerous individuals who stormed the building had shirts with the words “Cease Fire Now.” Video footage of the fights between protesters and police was captured by the public. At least one person went down a flight of stairs as police attempted to drive the crowd back out of the building.
A woman wearing a t-shirt demanding a cease-fire reportedly said, “We’re outside the Democratic Party headquarters, the DNC, because this party claims to be on the side of life and peace and equality and we’re saying we want them to live up to their values and oppose this horrific war and call for a cease-fire now.” The Post-Millennial reported that this woman had made these claims and that she took issue with the police’s attempts to bar the rioters from entering the building.

“Right now our officers are working to keep back approximately 150 people who are illegally and violently protesting in the area of Canal Street and Ivy Street, SE,” the US Capitol Police stated on X about the riot. “Arrests were being made by police. Everyone in the group has left the area. Please avoid the vicinity.” Metropolitan police joined them in trying to put an end to the riot.
The DNC riot occurred the day after a nonviolent demonstration in which several Jewish organizations and 300,000 people supporting Israel were present. Since the terror group Hamas in Palestine attacked Israel on October 7, Israel declared war on Gaza and ordered its residents to flee to the south of the region in preparation for a bombing campaign and possible ground invasion.
Today, I addressed hundreds of thousands at a rally in downtown Washington DC. It was an unprecedented show of support for Israel, a clear call for the immediate release of the hostages and a powerful coming-together to combat antisemitism.

According to David Friedman, a former US ambassador to Israel, this was “the largest Jewish gathering in history since Mount Sinai.”
