WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – Hunter Biden has agreed to testify publicly before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and provide a deposition.
According to the Post Millennial, this comes after the committee summoned him to testify on influence peddling in the Biden family and President Joe Biden’s relationship with his son’s murky foreign business dealings.
Abbe Lowell, Biden’s attorney, wrote to Chairman James Comer, saying, “Mr. Chairman, we take you up on your offer.” As a result, “our client will get right to it by agreeing to answer any pertinent and relevant question you or your colleagues may have, but rather than participating in your cloaked, one-sided process,” The Messenger says.
Comer issued subpoenas earlier this fall for Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden’s bank records saying, “From day one of our investigation of Joe Biden’s abuse of public office, we’ve followed the money, and that continues with today’s subpoenas for Hunter and James Biden’s bank records. Bank records don’t lie, and coupled with witness testimony, they reveal that Joe Biden abused his public office for his family’s financial gain. The financial records obtained to date reveal a pattern where the Bidens sold access to Joe Biden around the world to enrich the Biden family.”
The Post Millennial further reports that this followed their having “obtained access to the suspicious activity reports generated by the Biden family and their associates’ foreign or high-dollar transactions,” according to a report by House Oversight. The committee concluded from that examination that “more than 20 shell companies were identified, revealing how the Bidens and their associates made over $24 million by positioning Joe Biden as ‘the brand’ globally between 2014 and 2019.”
The committee issued a subpoena to Hunter Biden earlier this month and believes that the hearing will occur on December 13.
