STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A Wisconsin Rapids man is facing charges of attempted homicide and aggravated battery after an incident in Plover last weekend.
Investigators say the unidentified victim was run over by a vehicle on Saturday, November 25th. According to the victim, he was visiting family in Plover when he went outside during a heated phone call. That’s when a pickup came rushing down the road and hit him.
The victim says he was also kicked in the head. He was rushed to a hospital for leg and face injuries. Doctors also observed tire marks on his clothing.
The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Luis Rodriguez-Moreno. Officers say he did admit to beating the victim, but has denied that he ran him over with his vehicle.
He made a court appearance on Monday where a judge found probable cause and set his bond at $50,000 cash. He returns to court for an initial appearance on December 11th.
