The Wausau Parks and Rec Committee will consider adjustments to the municipal code regarding a proposed water ski drop-off area in Bluegill County Park.
According to packet materials for Monday’s agenda, the change is being proposed by the Water Walkers Show team. They are looking to move their base of operations from DC Everest Park, which they say will provide them with a site that’s better suited to their needs and the growth of their team.
The upgrades would also allow the team to ski exclusively in Wausau. They currently split time between Wausau and Lake Dubay in Portage County.
Upgrades would cost about $500,000 with the team looking for grants, private contributions, and money from both Marathon County and the City of Wausau.
