MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers are bringing some veteran pitching help for 2024, which includes the return of Wade Miley to the organization.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Brewers and free agent lefty Wade Miley have officially agreed to a one-year contract for the 2024 season, which includes a mutual option in the contract for 2025 as well.
ESPN’s Jesse Rogers followed Rosenthal’s report, stating that Miley’s contract includes a $7 million salary as well as a $1.5 million buyout on a $12 million mutual option for the 2025 season. That’s a guarantee of $8.5 million, and Rogers says performance bonuses could increase his total value to $11 million.
Miley had a strong 2023 season for Milwaukee, going 9-4 with a 3.14 ERA and 79 strikeouts.
The Brewers have also struck a minor-league deal pending a physical with veteran right-handed pitcher Joe Ross, according to Robert Murray of Fansided. Ross last pitched in 2021 for the San Francisco Giants, going 5-9 with a 4.17 ERA and 109 strikeouts.
