According Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Chourio agreed to an eight-year deal on Monday, with 2032 and 2033 club options. The deal’s terms were not disclosed, but an industry record of $82 million for a player without Major League experience was reported by a source to MLB.com. The deal includes club options for 2032 and ’33, which are valued at $25 million per year, which, with incentives and escalators, could increase the total value to almost $140 million over the course of the ten years, the source stated.
