MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers coaching staff are once again going after quarterbacks via the transfer portal.
Wisconsin is anticipated to welcome former Toledo quarterback and MAC Player of the Year DeQuan Finn to Madison “in the near future,” according to a report published on Wednesday by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
247 Sports stated that Finn, who only has one more year of eligibility, just finished his junior year with a career-high 8.4 yards per attempt (63.4% completion percentage) and 2,657 yards of touchdowns and interceptions. In addition, he ran for seven rushing touchdowns and 563 yards on 123 carries.
Finn led Toledo to an 11-2 record this season and is currently ranked as the seventh transfer quarterback available in the portal.
The Badgers also made an offer to 2024 four-star defensive back Jameer Grimsley, who is currently a verbal commit to Alabama.
Grimsley is ranked among the top 300 prospects for the 2024 class; On3’s recruiting database has him at 99th overall in the country, while Rivals’s database has him as the eighth-best cornerback in the nation.
