What’s next for the Wausau School District- now that merging the city’s two public high schools is off the table?
That’s what the Board of Education will dive into on Monday, as they are scheduled to hear a presentation from Superintendent Keith Hilts, which includes the possibility of a new district-wide strategic plan.
This comes after the board reversed course in November, voting to halt the consolidation plan but move forward with a closer examination of the current elementary school structure. The proposal was put forward after it was discovered that the consolidation plan would require additional science lab space, which would have been a multi-million dollar project.
The district’s administration team is requesting clarification and direction on the issue. Monday’s meeting begins at 5:00 PM at the Longfellow Administration Building. There will be a live stream as well.
