WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – With the primaries only a few weeks away, new polls show that former President Trump is pulling away from President Biden nationally.
According to the latest poll from CNN/SSRS, Trump leads Biden by 10 points in Michigan and by 5 points in Georgia, and overall, he leads in the election by 8 points.
CNN asked voters if President Biden’s policies have improved or worsened economic conditions in Michigan. Only 25% voted, it’s improved, while 56% said it’s worsened. In Georgia, the totals were similar, with 26% saying it’s improved and 54% saying it’s worsened.
The Wall Street Journal also found, for the first time in history, that former President Trump leads Biden by 4 points. Back in April, the same poll had Biden up three, and in August, they had the two candidates tied at 46%.
Their poll asked voters if Biden and Trump’s policies have helped or hurt them, with 23% saying Biden’s policies have helped them and 53% saying they’ve hurt them. As for Trump, 49% stated that his policies helped them, while 37% said they hurt them.
When asked who they would vote for if Trump was convicted of a felony of alleged involvement in the January 6th riots, they responded 46% to 45% in favor of Biden. However, the WSJ asked the same question if Biden was impeached by the House due to being involved with Hunter Biden’s business, saying they’d vote 46% to 41% in favor of Trump.
